I will be putting a post ‘67 225 slant and and a ‘72 model 904 (the sliding yoke style) in my ‘64 Barracuda (originally a V8 car). Will ‘67-‘72 style A body (or another body for that matter) motor mount brackets fit in this combination? I read somewhere that doing so technically fits but, on a manual transmission, it pushes the engine or bell housing into the Z bar and causes clutch action problems. Will doing this in an automatic car push the transmission back too far as to touch the firewall/transmission tunnel or interfere with the fit or travel of the driveshaft and/or yoke? Thanks!

If my memory serves me correctly, they are very different, especially the passenger side.

You need a pair of '62-'66 Slant-6 motor mount brackets for this install.

Thanks for the info. Nothing worse than buying a set of the wrong brackets “on a hunch” that won’t fit and will sit in my shop for the next decade! Happy to avoid it … for once!

You will also need to use the early (66 down) oil pan and pick up tube.

Is the pan necessary on a car that has the V8 center link. My memory is that sumps are in the same place but the less girthy on the early engine, but this is a 30 year since last dealing with it memory.

No, the sumps are located differently. You will need the '60-'66 pan and pickup.

Also a set of '62-'66 motor mounts. Crummy compressed-cow-poo items from the parts store or the good ones from Polybushings (have a conversation with Johnny @ Polybushings if you want a softer-than-he-usually-makes set of them).

You can also notch the K-frame on the RH side and then use the "center" sump pan ( Blue one in the picture) off the later engine . Of course you need to reinforce the area you cut. Early pans are not on every corner anymore. :D

A F-Body oil pan and pickup along with the '64 - '66 V8 center link will work. The oil pan needs to be notched on the driver side front corner for clearance. Much easier the notching the K-member.

‘62-‘66 mounts? If you want to sell a set, let me know?

If by saying “notched on the driver side front corner for clearance” you mean give it a few whacks with a hammer, that sounds preferable to me than cutting on the K member. Honestly, if you mean cut a section out of the pan and weld in a flat piece of metal in it’s place to gain clearance that also sounds preferable to cutting the K … just more effort.

I have been eyeballing an engine out of a truck (year unknown; originality of engine to this truck unknown), so I have no idea what oil pan is on it.

Oil pans.

If I spent a day digging around at my shop I might have the mounts, but might never find them.

If you happen onto one that you want to sell, it me know. No rush.
