Looking for a non-lockup torque converter for a 1973 904 near Tacoma, WA.

Alternatively, if anyone here is in the Tacoma area and knows how to weld cracks on the converter hub, let's talk.

I think they cut out the hub and weld in a new hub.
A non L/U converter for a 904 should be pretty reasonable as a fresh reman
They used to be anyway

I would not try to weld cracks. You might hit up Dave Mueller or Doug Powers or Mike Bjerklund. I bet one of those guys has a spare. They are all within 1 hr of Tacoma.

Thanks guys. I got dumped on at work so this has taken a back burner, and I found out Jegs has remanufactured 904 converters for $120. That is fairly reasonable, so I will likely just go that route if I want to put this 904 back in service.

Is there a W I T or a Transtar place near you? Id bet there is.
I have both by me, both about an hour away, actually not far from each other. These are transmission parts warehouse companies.
(W I T stands for "whatever it takes")
The last L/U converter I got was for a 46RE (would be the same splin count, would work in a 727 L/U trans) and that wasn't much more than that... Id bet one of these places would be that much or cheaper without having to worry about shipping a core anywhere, you could set it on the counter when you pick up your new one ... Also I know that O'Reilly's can get them,my neighbor just got one for his (though a Chevy, I'm sure you could get one for your 904 as well)
