What size "O" ring for 61 Valiant fuel tank filler tube?
Second question: Where to get the phenolic throttle carb. linkage insulator sleeve (or recommendation of alternative)?
The car as I bought it has a piece of 1/2" rubber fuel hose where the phenolic sleeve is supposed to be.
Thank you in advance. :)

Can't help with the fuel filler gasket, but here is the carb linkage part https://www.ebay.com/itm/365720895782?m ... 62ef4f6ae2

Charrlie S: THANK YOU!
Bought it.
I'll post the "O" ring size as soon as I dig out from hiding my Parker Hannifin "O" ring book and measuring cone. Though the original seems to be about 40 durometer rather than usual 60-70 as normal for Buna-N or Viton.
Thanks again! 8)

This might be the "O"-ring you need. https://www.detroitmuscletechnologies.c ... 8-1730087/
From the mopar 1961 parts manual the "O" ring is listed as illustration 14-86-83, and part number 2073 938

If you cant find the 1961 specific o Ring, You might be able to get some info from Australasian sources.

I bet that part is quite rare here unless you can find a viton or similar o ring with the same dimensions out of a gasket catalog or McMaster car or something of the like.

Maybe SlantSixDan will have some insight into this as well.

Other than a rebuilt or custom / hot rod fuel tank and sending unit there are not much support for the rear floor and gas tank stuff on the '60-'61 Valiants as they do not swap with the more reporoudced parts of the '62-'63 and up A bodies.

Good Luck!

Greg

Thank you!
Yes, I see the fuel filler tube "O" rings listed on an Australian website.
Mcmaster.com certainly does have them once one knows the appropriate size; which is 2-327 (.210" cross section width x fractional ID: 1 3/4" x fractional OD: 2 1/8" [actual 1.725" 2.145"]. I went with Viton 75 durometer.
As these are used in a static seal situation (ie: no reciprocating seal face relative motion) the Viton material should be a good choice. Buna - N certainly is okay also.

I think you are correct. My vpn will not load the site but I would not find it surprising for Detroit Muscle Tech. to have them.
Thank you.
