Congrats to Ron Hamby on winning at St Louis. I think he beat Dale Rose in the final. No doubt Ron is the best drag racer in our group he shows it time after time. Every body know that when they race Ron you had just about put a perfect round down to beat him. I know been there and tried but it don,t happen much with me. Ron our Champion and his racing program reflects that he is the best program in slant six racing. But we are going after him here in Ga. Because it ain't over until i win. Thanks Possum Parker :D :D :D

TOM I THINK DALE SAID RON HAMBY HAS A 20 POINT LEAD GOING INTO THE RACE IN GA. IT CAN STILL BE DECIDED AT THE GA RACE IF ENOUGH CARS WILL SHOW AND DALE WAS ABLE TO WIN IN CALHOUN. SOUNDS REAL INTERESTING FOR THE NEXT AND FINAL RACE. NORM

Interesting. Dale must be counting a 20 point race in his 4 races. Either that or its a 30 point race and Ga. would have to be a 50 point race for him to have a chance.

How many car were a St. Louis?

Doug - Do you have an update on the points through Wilkesboro?

Seymour just sent me the latest stats so I will get those posted as soon as possible.
This is what I know about the St. Louis SL6 Race:
10 cars total, 9 cars made the first round. Mike Jeffrey's car broke during qualifing, word is that a piston / head gasket let go during an NOS blast for a new record.

Ron Hamby is the winner, Daric Alumbaugh was runner-up. Daric (Wes' son) had Ron "covered" at the start but then the throttle cable on the lime green Valiant broke at 1/2 track.

During the semis, Dale Rose and Ron H. went at it, the word is that there was only .005 between the two "packages" with Ron getting the win.

This sounded like Ron's weekend because he broke a trans. front pump drive on Friday, pulled the trans out and fixed it in the pits with a late night thrash, then went on to win the bracket.

Las Vegas race winner Romeo Furio and fellow racer Rick Valant made the trip out to St Louis but Romeo got paired with Ron H. in the first round, Ron cut a .501 light that Romeo could not get around.

The Team Green Lancer made some great runs for a new alcohol record, 10.710 backed-up with a 10.721 pass. Seymour tested the fuel just to be sure everything was on the up & up... it was.

So, Ron H. has a 30 point lead going into the last race. Dale needs to get at least 17 cars out to the Calhoune, GA so it goes 5 rounds. (50 points) Then Dale has to win the event and Ron can't get into the semis, if that happens, those two will tie for first.

Does anyone else have info. on the St Louis race??

Thanks for the update Doug.

A 50 point in Ga. is possible. We had 15 at NW and the Florida gang should make this event. Rob S. lives down that way also. So there are three cars we did not have. We lose the two locals and C.Myers so now we are back to 15. Just need two more!

Lou - What was the guy name from Greensboro? Did he say if he was going to make it to Ga.?

I agree, let's rattle some cages and get 17 cars out there. I'll be there. Maybe I'll get my buddy Luis to drive my other car and we can both enter...

Tom, the guy you mean is Larry from High Point with the '70 Valiant? I can't remember his last name! I'm sure Seymour wrote it down.

Sounds like a fun race at St. Louis - congrats Ron!
