Just wondering if anyone know of companies that make replacement 5V dash gauges for mopar in general.
I've seen reproduction gauges for limited or certain models. HAS anyone made mopar 5V gauge replacements in general where you can use original gauge face plate??

If you are willing to spend big money there is a company named "new vintage gauges" that will make any gauge that you design. You could have brand new gauges designed to fit brand new bezels that will fit within your original cluster that don't use the original 5v wiring/regulator. You would have to work with them, and they would likely need your cluster/bezel for precision measurements AND it would not be cheap.

Of course since it is aftermarket you are at the mercy of that company for any future replacement parts that may fail. They may be willing to attach and calibrate their equipment to a faceplate/bezel that you supply.

I have never used the company and am not endorsing them, but they have been around for at least 10 years and claim to be US produced instead of mystery 3rd world factories in an unknown country. here is the linky https://newvintageusallc.mybigcommerce.com/

Small batch and custom work, big fan of supporting businesses that make parts for classic cars
At some point with no replacements, better than rigging something else in general.

Need a fuel gauge for a 62 Lancer.

I got thru to new vintage on the phone. They don't make or custom fabrication for 5v mopar gauges. All gauges 12v only. All small gauges are industry standard 2" or 2 1/16" gauges. Making these any any aftermarket will probably involve removing gauge housing and making terminal contacts shorter to fit in OEM DAS Wbezel cover.

It's a shame no company made a batch run of mopar 5V movements for gauge replacements using your old faceplate for original look.

When I posted the link to newvintage I clearly stated that their gauges would not use the mopar 5v system.

It would be fitting their equipment to your bezel. With enough money spent they could make pieces that would fit in the spots you have available, BUT it would be modern gauges calibrated to the matched modern sending units, NOT vintage mopar 5v stuff.

I will try to translate what Dan has posted, he is one of the most knowledgeable people you will ever find on any forum that he frequents and you seem to have tickled his nerves some.

What is the problem you are having with your fuel gauge. What are its symptoms? What troubleshooting have you done? What parts have already been replaced? What other modifications have been done to the car?

The mopar 5v gauges are fairly reliable but do have age and common issues working against them. Your problem could be something as simple as a missing/rusted piece of metal that you wouldn't know to look for under the car. The gauges themselves can be tested individually and there are threads on here on how to do that. Replacing old parts on car is nearly impossible these days because quality control (on parts such as fuel sending units) is nonexistent. If you start replacing parts without first proving those parts are actually bad you may create more problems that will waste time and money.

It's a 62 lancer fuel gauge that's bad and not functional . I'll contact the company to see what best substitute they can do.

The only real advantage of going with that company over other aftermarket parts that are cheaper, if they can match the size and depth , bolt pattern of OEM gauge mounting . This would eliminate the need to adapt and make a custom mount for a standard 2" to 2"/16 instrument aftermarket gauge. Ideally something made to mount directly to OEM PCB would be best for meter centering. Gotta call them..
Custom gauges would be better as old ones are slimmer and smaller than industry standard gauges. They may need to remove or have meters made without those round bulky housings that original gause don't have.

Unless I talked to the wrong person Turbo Slant 6, they only do 12v gauges..

Okay, at the risk of being drawn into the maelstrom, which I swore I wouldn't do:

It is very unclear why you are trying to buy a custom gauge.
What is wrong with just buying a used gauge? Dan would probably be able to quote you chapter and verse, but, in general, even if the exact gauge is hard to find, the mechanisms of gauges from different years and models are likely to be the same, even if the needles or faces are stamped or printed differently.

The original gauges are quite rare and expensive due to age. The mechanism or movement I was referring to was 5v OEM. I'm just surprised no meter movements were made in general for 5v where you swapped out the faceplate. Not ideal, but would let you do some type of repair or refurbish one. Not engineering some cross compatibility or substitutes for parts for generations of models just leaves you with original factory run of spare parts.
