I have an ignition switch with intermittent contact on the IG2 terminal. I have a used spare, but no key to that one. So I thought I'd swap cylinders. There is a button that looks like it should release the cylinder, but the cylinder won't pull out. Is there any trick to this? Or should I just order a new switch and new cylinder? Are new replacements decent quality?

Solved - got to put the key in and turn it to the run position. Which means if I use the spare, I'll need to drill out the release tab since I don't have its key. Or I may just order a new one.

Any decent locksmith worth the title should be able to rekey what you have.

True, but I'm not sure it's worth the money to use a 60 year old ignition switch. I just ordered a new one.
