Has there ever been an aluminum valve cover for the 81-87 hydraulic head, or an adapter to run the earlier covers? I ran across an old forum somewhere a while back where someone said they had an older finned cover and were going to make an adapter to run it, but never said whether they were successful..

Thanks for asking, Don. Is that your Jeep in the linked pic? Looks cool!

I have a modified Clifford finned VC that fits an 81-87 head. It was made by a circle tracker from WA who I bought a bunch of stuff from. I'd take $50+ ship for it. Let me find it tonight...

All the best,
Lou

I don't have your answer but there are a few people who have the expertise to do this.
I know there have been 2 different spacers made for the more common head, so it can be done.

Yes, the Cox brothers made some fabricated aluminum valve covers many years back and they were accidentally made for the hydraulic head. Lou Madsen has one. They are super sweet looking, but I don't know where you would ever find one for sale.
