Bonjour à tous, je suis nouveau sur ce forum, je vous remercie de m'avoir donner accès au forum et à votre source d'informations techniques. J'habite en France (nouvelle Aquitaine) et désolé mais mon anglais n'est pas assez bon pour pouvoir communiquer, donc je m'exprime en français en espérant que vous saurez traduire. Je suis un ancien mécanicien automobile et engins de Travaux Publics à la retraite et je fais à titre de loisir de la restauration de voitures anciennes dont la dernière une Vedette Versailles 1956 à moteur V8 Ford. Depuis j'ai acheté une Plymouth Valiant 200 de 1964 équipé d'un moteur Slant 6 de 170ci que je démonte pour remise en état et je suis à la recherche d'un collecteur d'échappement qui est fendu à deux endroits. J'en ai trouvé un sur Ebay mais il est vendu pour les moteurs Slant 6 de 198 et 225ci dont voici le lien: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/123771290586?_t ... 0667.m2042 Je voulais savoir si quelqu'un peut me dire si les moteurs Slant 6 de 170, 198 et 225ci ont le même bloc moteur et si dans ce cas le modèle de collecteur proposé par Ebay pourrait se monter sur mon 170ci. Si il n'est pas montable il me faudrait alors trouver une autre solution mais j'ai déjà beaucoup cherché et ne trouve pas, peut être aurez-vous une solution ou une adresse à me proposer pour en trouver un en neuf ou occasion. Bonjour, et bienvenue! Oui, le collecteur que tu as acheté marcherai sur ton '64, mais la poche pour l'actuateur de l'estrangulateur est different; si tu mets ton actual, ça rendrait le moteur gourmand. Il vaut mieux d'acheter aussi un trousse d'estrangulateur electrique comme décrit ici; avec carburateur de type au moins mi-d'origine, ça prennerai le trousse № 1231. Comme recommandé par Dart270, faite soin et attention aux joints; acheter les Remflex. Pour d'infos sur la quincaillerie (goujons filetés, écrous, rondelles, etc.), voir ici, et pour d'infos sur l'installation des collecteurs, voir ici. |

Hello and thank you all, I’m going to follow your good advice—as well as Dart270’s—and use Google Translate to ensure better communication. I’m reassured about the exhaust manifold now and will go ahead and order it. As for the flange gasket, I ordered the complete exhaust system from Waldron Exhaust; it comes with the flange gasket, which I assume will be of good quality. Regarding the manifold-to-block gasket, one will be included in the complete engine gasket set I’m ordering to fully reseal the engine. I can get that from a French retailer (U.S. Pièces Auto), but I don’t know the brand of gaskets they supply. Thanks again, Best regards, Patrick |

We ventured into Quebec this summer after a coil boot failed on my wife's 3.0L Ford V-6. 15 miles from the international border in Vermont. I was able to fix it roadside in the US, but it set us back a few hours, and we did not spend as much time in Quebec as we would have liked. We loved seeing the different language on the road signs and other seemingly American institutions displayed in French!. For example, NAPA auto parts in NAPA pieces'd auto. My daughter and I geeked out on that one for a few days! Within 2 hours, we navigated the French Canadian countryside and back to the New York side of Lake Champlain to head to Lake Placid, NY. We never made it to Montreal, but maybe in the future someday. |

Ouf, non, c’est pas une supposition solide ; même pour le joint entre les collecteurs et le moteur. Cela vaut vraiment la peine de faire l'effort pour obtenir les Remflex, en particulier.

Naw, I could only wish I were that good at cursing and swearing. I had to pick either French or Spanish starting in 5th grade (very unusual for U.S. schooling), and I picked French. I don't call myself fluent, but I'm passably good. I use Translate to look up vocabulary I don't know or have forgotten, but mostly I go on my own steam. Decades ago I used to drive between Michigan and Ontario frequently. My favourite, at the foot of Highway 401 in Ontario was a series of signs first in English and then in French. "Welcome to Canada" and then 100m later "Bienvenue au Canada". Fine.Next set was "METRIC CONVERSION: 100 km/h = 60 mph" and then 100m later "CONVERSION MÉTRIQUE: 100 km/h = 60 mph".
