Screen Name says what I have, I know I need a valve job and when that happens I will do the manifold upgrade. Reading in the article section, will the donors have to be these for the throttle/trannie linkage or what else can or will work for this mod?
I still need to get the carb but Im wondering with the say 77 and up, won't that have a bunch of vaccum ports on the carb that need to be pluged or what?

If you have an automatic transmission you will have to use either the factory two barrel kickdown linkage or a cable style linkage (either home-made or Lokar). You also might have some problems with the throttle linkage. I am not familiar with the throttle linkage on the early a-100 vans so I can't help you. As far as the carbs go you can use a BBD from any year (including the sixties) or you can just get some vacuum caps and cap the extra vacuum fittings on a late 70's/80's carb. Another thing to watch out for is air cleaner clearance with your "doghouse." Otherwise, this is a very good mod and you will like the result.

OK, So now I have snagged a carb and tranny linkage off of a 72 van, and haven't really looked or played around to see what else I'll need. I need to do a rebuild on the carb!
Looking and trying to figure out how to get the throttle linkage to work, what do I need to get for that to work? Thanks again

What kind of throttle linkage do you have (rod linkage or cable style)? Can you post some pictures of it?
