Is this a good idea to make things a little more fair?

This was a suggestion that was brought up in the 2004 Racing discussion.

Here is the basic idea. Since we do not have enough cars to create two separate classes do you think the following would be a good idea or not?

When the slant six class is called to the lanes the No Box(or footbrake) cars would go first and pull to their lane of choice. After a few minutes the box cars would come to the lanes and pull to their lane of choice. This would have to be a "gentlemans" aggreement but it would give the footbrake cars a chance to run each other in the 1st round or two instead of always being paired with the faster box cars.

This would not mean that all of the footbrake cars would run each other, if they all choose the same lane then they are getting lane choice over running a footbrake car.

Any thoughts??

tom

I'm betting that some of the Box guys will pitch a bitch about it. That would seriously limit first round duck hunting.

What about cars with a brake but no box? Where do you put them?

We gonna separate the street cars too? Then Ron and Rodney can run first round every race.

Tom,

This might work, but it seems a little slanted...

It seems to me that random pairings for every round (or at least the first two rounds?) are probably the easiest and fairest way to do this. Just pick chips - even easier than Kay or somebody collecting timeslips and setting up a ladder.

Lou,s idea is the best put everybody in a hat and draw who you race .The winners go to second and do the same thing until we get to the final. Also draw for the bye run if there is one . This the best way to do this program for everbody. Talk to me racers we need to put this together . I think this will help promote our racing series :D :D :D Thanks Possum Parker
