I have a 72 Demon with the Holly 1920 carb on it. I have had it for over 10 years and it has always done well on the emmissions tests.

I had it tested today and it just barely passed the Carbon Monoxide test. It is supposed to be a max of 7% and its reading was 6.05%. (This is an idle test only). In the past it has been 1 to 2%.

I am thinking that I need to adjust the idle mixture to lean it out. What I can't remember is which way to turn the screw to lean the mixture. Does anyone know? Also, any other suggestions for the high number?

Thanks

Car Model:
turn it in (clockwise, that is) to lean it out...
I use to turn it in 'til the engine stumbled, then back it out a half turn
now I use a vacuum gauge, going for highest manifold vacuum at correct rpm...
