Well, at long last, I am close to getting this 73 Duster on the road after a couple years of total revamp. I have a few nagging problems though. One is no reverse but I think I will have it rebuilt by a tranny shop, the other is a sprung door that I will send to body shop. The two I need help with are nagging electrical problems I can't seem to solve. One is the wipers. I have replaced the motor and the switch but I still only get low speed and that is when switch is in high position and the wipers do not park. My wiring diagram is bad for this circuit so that is no help. I also noticed that I get juice from all but one switch terminal regardless of the switch position. Any suggestions?

The second is the heater/AC blower. I get no juice at the motor and I have the switch partially out. The switch "feels" bad. What I mean by that is it is a slide switch but there are no "clicks" like most of these switches have. Any ideas?

I am at the point where I think it may be easier and quicker to just replace the dash harnesses. I replaced all the engine harnesses already. Does anyone have a source for dash harnesses?

What you need is a factory service manual so you can double check the wiring. The closes FSM I have is for a 72 Dart and I really don't know how close that will be to a 73 Duster.
One source is www.classiccarwiring.com and there are others out there.

De-bunking electrical problems just take knowledge (understanding the circuit) and time. As an example, for the wipers, you need a good ground for the system to "park", in fact, there should be a copper ground strap leading off the wiper motor, is that well grounded? (not onto a painted or dirty surface) The switch needs to be well grounded also.

I do know the ground at the motor is good because I ran a continuity check on it after I installed it. I didn't check the switch but if the switch works on some settings, wouldn't that mean the ground is OK or does it use a different ground source for each position? I will check out that wiring diagram site. Thanks.

I failed to mention that this beast has AC as well. When I got it, the compressor was (and still is) in the trunk. I had hoped to get the heat running and the car on the road and then mess with the AC some other time. Is that contributing to the lack of a functioning blower motor?
