One nice thing about the log rod build-up is that you can get increased compression without milling the head or block, it is a matter of selection a piston with the correct dish. Some genreal compression ratios were outlined in the stroking article, near the end: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/stroking/stroking.htm As with any "custom" engine assemble, you need to take actual measurments and cc you cylinder head to calculate actual compression. As for the engine mounts for the truck, I do not know if these are the same as the passenge car mounts, my guess it that they are not the same. DD |

Mounts for the truck are different than a car (at least all the cars I have seen have different mounts). The bonus is that both mounts are the same (same P/N) and from what I have seen are cheaper and have better availability than many car mounts. NAPA had them up here, around $25 total for both IIRC. You will need an oil pan and pickup tube for a truck as well. -S/6 |

Have a truck oil pan (6qt front sump) and pick-up assembly from '60 era pick-up. Post back if interested. |
