Is it possible to change from the 2 spd. motor to the 3 spd. one? |

Sure. Just make sure you also get the switch and any associated wireing. |

That I don't know. Never got into F bodys. It is easier to get the switch and wiring from a car like yours I would think. I know the 3spd wipers where optional on most A, B and C body cars (unless it came with a 440 Six Pack, Hemi, or shacker hood [Ebodys] due to air cleaner clearance issues). Don't know about mid to late '70's cars. |

ALSO..... some, maybe all the 3-speeds used a different linkage setup than the 2-speed models. On the 75 A-body I tried that on the 3-speed "parked" and the 2-speed does not and each uses a different linage. So now you have something else to find out. |

If you can make a later 3 speed system adapt to a 64, let me know how you did it. Problem is on the 63-66 A bodies the linkage is confined to under the dash, some time later they went to the linkage outside under the cowling. Best bet would be to find a 3 speed motor, wiring harness and switch that will work with the existing linkage. Don't restrict yourself to Chrysler products, explore possibilitys from other auto makers as well. Not putting you down, just trying to inform. |

Yea i am exploring all options but the el camino and nova i had for a while the wiper motors burnt out,and i have replaced a dozen on gm so i am thinking of trying some import or even ford but the ford ones are way off if i remember correctly. I just want to try for a direct bolt on because after the offy goes on i am driving to florida this summer and the afternoon showers there are to heavy for my 2 spd. |

Just remembered my 64 Imperial had 4 speed wipers and inside linkage. hmm? Also you need to make sure that the arm mounting post is the same. Ditto for spline count. Got burned on this, vender sold me a set as fitting a 66, turned out he was wrong and so was I for not doing my homework. My post are 7/16 inches in diameter and have no doubt yours is too. Wonder how cost effective it would be to have the orginal motor modified to a 3 speed? |

There are generic variable wiper speed motor controls availible at kragens etc. Knew someone that had it on their duster and it worked just fine. |

You're right Pierre, also JC Whitney has them for around 20 bucks, if you don't mind the aftermarket look.. |

If your sneaky you can conceal it all under the dash and even have the controls coming out of the original spot so it would be undetectable unless you bend under the dash. Or put it in the ash tray after removing the cigarette lighter. GT63, I figure if your picky about looks, you'll probably also be picky about #'s matching originality, of which a 3speed whiper motor deffinately isn't. |

No, not a #s matching guy in any way shape or form! I happen to be in love with the dash design, find it visually appealing and user friendly. Espically the various control knobs and surfaces, have to appreciate the effort Dodge put forth to tie it all together. I modify and update where needed, but hands off my dash...Dave |

Believe me, it would be easier if I were a function over form guy. Pierre I could convert the Dodge back to #s matching in a couple of days if I were so inclined, yes I still have every #s matching item ever removed with the exception of proper date coded points and condensers (drats, the ones in the parts cabinet are dated May of 1964). These date code fanatics end up with cars they are afraid to drive. Not me brother, this is my main transportation. |
