hey guys i have a 1980 dodge aspen 2door coupe with the 225 in it and i have a question, well first here is the story behind what happend, i bought the car from a impound yard so the history is unsure,i got it for 300 bucks so i thought it was a great deal being the body was straight and the motor ran great,so i got her home and noticed a rag all bunched up under the air cleaner so i removed it not thinking about it twice, so i got in the car to start it and pumped the gas before i turned the key and my buddy who was at the hood said that the whole carb assembely tilted down,so i was like OH S***,so i took the air cleaner off and noticed the the carb was just resting on the *throttle plate(unsure of the term),so i put the rag back so i could get it in my drive way.now i guess the guy who had it before me rebuilt the carb and stripped the bolts ti the throttle plate so he tried to JBWELD it back together and apperently it didnt hold so i made a hugh mistake and pulled the carb and throttle plate with out marking the vac lines(yea i know but im young and trust me itll never happen again) so i look at the vacume diagram under the hood and i guess the hood rubs on it so most of it was missing now i thought i had most of it right but now when i start the car it idles at about 1500 to 1600 rpm(not to sure since i dont have a tac. so all in all i guess i was wondering if anyone would know which vac line would cause this or maybe have a car similar and could take a pic of the diagram of maybe even explain which ones go where so i can understand sorry for it being sooo long i just thought it would be easier for you guys to understand the question if you knew the whole story thanks a bunch dustin |
