I still have one nagging electrical problem on the 73 Duster. I cannot seem to get the blower to run. I know the motor works because I briefly ran it with a direct hook up. The car was equipped with air but the compressor is still in the trunk along with other ac parts. Would the lack of ac components cause the fan to not run? I seem to get 12 volts in all three connectors that run to the fan swicth in the dash which seems strange. This car had major electrical problem in the past because the black wire that runs from the alternator and eventually into the dash had all the insulation completely fried off. Adjacent wires seem OK and I have replaced the black wire, the entire engine harness and even the terminal block at the firewall as it had some evidence of melting. |

Finally got the fan running. I had already replaced the switch since I knew it was obviously broken. Still couldn't get the fan to work. So, I unbundled the wires in the dash and traced them all while checking continuity. Finally discovered that the wires in the terminal block at the firewall were switched around. I now have the panel lights out but I believe that is the headlight switch. This thing may be on the road this week after 3 years of rebuild. Mike |

I'd invest in a wiring diagram for your car and double check all your connections to make sure everything's wired correctly. And diagrams never go to waste as they are invaluable in helping diagnose electrical problems. |
