What method do most of you use to ship large items, such as seats or body parts? I've heard that Greyhound can carry parts, but I haven't checked with them. Just curious, Jerry |

Check out yellow freight, it is a trucking company that can handle shipping big packages including crates. http://www.myyellow.com/dynamic/service ... /index.jsp |

UPS does oversize now for a surcharge. They say they will do 150 linear inches, which is big. I've shipped fenders and 1/4s and bumpers so far and the surcharge isn't that much for those size parts. Lou |

If it's instate or close, greyhoud is killer. They have a size limit but fenders and seats are not a problem. If you're looking to roll something heavier and bigger (engine, trans, rear) then amtrack is rock and roll. UPS is still the standard, and reasonable even with the oversize surcharge but they'll stick ya with a "pick-up" fee. DOH! FedEx seems to be a few bux cheaper for the same service. Hmmm... Of course, there's always JYH delivery service. It's kinda spendy at a 12pack per 100miles and a per deim to buy 8.00 gingerales for the strippers along the way.... *laughs* -JYH |

<<JYH? what are you doing on here? did you pull the 318 out of the warhorse and put in a slant 6? lol>> Mikey, you should know by now... like the phantom... i'm everywhere! Besides, i could never hurt my little 318's feelings. Rumor has it that the Used Power & Speed Equipment Skunkwerkz Division is building up a mighty leaning tower of power for some type of open road racing... but that's strictly hush-hush on the down low. *rubbs hands together greedily* -JYH |

Southwest Airlines does a good job in our neck of the woods. Not too sure about the heavier items but they do on bulky items. We had a new upright bass shipped from Albuquerque to Lubbock for $140. The shop told us it was the safest and quickest as well as comparable price-wise to ground. Mike |
