No disrespect to the Slant 6, as imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Here is my 250 cross-flow project from early last year. This is an Aussie F### engine, a derivative of the old Falcon engine.

I was trying to fit a Wade RO34 207 cubic inch blower in the engine bay, under the hood. The strut towers our Falcons, Mustangs, Foxes, Granadas and Mavericks have make it ackward. It was a goer technically, but I bailed as I realised the old Log head I6 was a better bet. (Still wrong?)

Image<<<<This is the SBF Ford FMX to 250 x-flow bellhousing adaptor template. I'm now making these for I6's, without the 21 degree tilt.

Image<<<<Sorry guys, no 30 degree passinger side list, a 21 degree drivers side list instead. Stupid Ford guys, geeze, they always much up some of the most basic things!

Image<<<<The FMX auto was out of a 351Windsor LTD. The tilt was arranged to avoid bolt and starter motor overlap.

Image<<<<The view of the starter. Note the exhast ends up on the passenger side. The x-flow is very slant-ish on the intake side, with a 8 degree tilt from vertical on the manifold face if you lay the head on the table.

Image<<<<The bellhousing links in with the FMX bolts to a degree. I decided to do a drilled through bolt on this to get it all hooked up.

Image<<<<One the other side, the bell housing cleared most block bolts okay. I believe you can adaptor plate anything if your enginerring is sound.

Image<<<<Ah, look! A 30 degree slant the right way! I couldn't package this one, due to oil drainback issues. If I'd used the Hemi 426-style oil drainback, it would have been great!

Image<<<<The end of the matter. Well, dugh! Maybee we can use the alloy head on one of your 225 slanters. Bore spacings are only 80 to 100 thou out. And it was cast by Honda for Ford in Japan, so you don't have to feel bad about mixing Fix Or Repair Daily bits with Mopars.

Image<<<<The head is close to slant in size, but the camshaft side is all wrong, as is valve phasing, and possibly the bolt pitches. The head in the forground is alloy, the background, the earlier cast iron variant. These are 351C-style heads.

Image<<<<Not shown clearly here, the manifold face is 8 degrees tilted to the drivers side, similar to your slant 6. I'm sure if you could reverse the head, and use the long runner EFI system they came with, you could get close to mounting one!

Oh well, now you can see what I get up to in my spare time...

Cool info and some nice ideas here, I like seing the alloy, cross-flow head. You boys "down-under" have some nice stuff to work with.

Oh, great job on the message post, you know your html code!

Neat engine, I deffinately like the idea of exhaust and intake on different sides. Same firing order as the /6 too ;)

Ack, but with that intake, looks like you'll have worse fuel distribution problems to the outer cylinders th en with a slant.

Yes siree, fuel distribution isn't a strong suit, although it can be got around with some really good aftermarket bits. I guess you are pretty well served with the slant. Its always had close to equal runners.

I'm going to post the F### bolt spacings, and see if I can compare them with your Slant. The head is great quality alloy, and it may be re-drillable if the slant runs a similar four bolt per cylinder arrangement. The head could be turned so it fits over the lifter galleries. The EFI head could fit your Slant if these pieces lined up within 500 thou.

Image<<<<This is the Aussie F### Falcon EFI head, reversed, pitched 30 degrees, rocker badge removed out of respect, and it has the same bolt sapcing as any 144/170, 200, 250 block. If you can check-out one US Ford gasket against the Slant Six, you may find there is enough scope for doing something with it.
