The 'Inliners International' have a several drag classes and records for the quarter mile. Slant6 is represented by one car. A '66 Dart owned by Mr. Bob Stepp. Class is B Stock and ET is 19.45.
Does anyone (meaning Doc :D ) know the class rules? When did Mr. Stepp set the record, did he prepare the car and how is it equiped (was it a 170?, auto?)?

Cecil, I do not know when the record was set and what he was running. If you go to the Inliners site, they have a breakdown on the rules and regs. of their racing and also have the breakdown on classes that you can run.
Are you going to the Inliners breakfast this Saturday? I talked to Charlie yesterday and he mentioned that you might be there.
If all three of us show up with Mopars, I think we will be the majority, and I look forward to meeting you.

Cecil,
Bob set that record a few years back, I think it was 1999.
The car was my fully loaded 66 Dart station wagon, 1bbl 225, AT, PS, AC, DB, 8 3/4, 3650 lbs, we saw that it fit right into that stock B class.
Basically the wagon towed my B'cuda to the track so Bob ran the "tow car" knowing that he could grab the record. (it was an "open" record)

This was an Inliners event we arranged at Sacramento Raceway, Matt King from Car Craft entered a SL6 powered Duster and he was able to grab the open "Stock A" record. (We had to unload everything out of the car but we were able to get it under the 3,000 lb limit) That record did not become official because Matt was not an Inliner member and the records are held by Inliner members only.

Bottom line, if you are an Inliners member and have a "stock" inlin powered car that weighs under 3,000 pounds, there is an unclaimed record waiting for you.

RE, I'll try to make the I.I. breakfast Saturday. I want to run my '68 V200 Saturday nite so I may have it on a trailer if I go to 1/4 in Bradenton or if I go to the 1/8 in Lakeland I may drive it. Hope to see you and Charlie there.
Doc, that open record sounds like something fun, and easy, to do. There is a I.I. race every year in Bradenton on the first weekend of Nov. That is also the weekend of the 'Mopars with Big Daddy' show. I might have to split that weekend up.
