Just thought I 'd give credit to (FORD6566@aol.com) He hooked me up with the petronix points change-over for $58.00 delivered to my home in Ks. It looks like a real sweet swap & cannot wait to put it to work in my trusty 62 valiant. I found him on the great garage sale in cyber space(e-spam). Thanks for the post. I enjoy viewing the on-going saga in the slanted world, this forum is great!! Vdart

8) ( Any one wishing to get this deal contact Matt at the Ford e-mail above)

I put one in my 71 truck 5 yrs. ago. Love that thing. One problem I thoughtn of is what to do when I need a new rotor? Do I have to order from Pertronix? Does anyone knoe if the rotor they use is from another application? This would be good info. in the case of emergency.

I AM INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A PERTRONIX KIT, I WAS GOING TO GET THE MOPAR ELECTRONIC CONVERSION BUT THEY QUIT MAKING IT. THIS IS A GOOD WAY TO GO WITH THE PERTONIX SET-UP. I HAVE A PRO-STREETED '65 VALIANT WITH THE 170 WHAT TO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THE PERTRONIX KIT. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.
THANKS SLANT6FX

I've a few questions to add on the topic as the distributer here in Oz seems unwilling/unable to answer.
I've read a few times that a worn dizzie is OK with pertronix kit fitted. Is this true? Isn't the stock vacuum and mechanical advance still used?

Regards

In my case, yes both the adv. systems are stock & work fine. Just install the pertronix, set the air gap, put on rotor, snap cap and go.
