| Post subject: | Wheel Width Questions |
I've got a 73 dart with the stock wheels. I'm planning on swapping to the large bolt pattern and putting some larger and wider wheels on the dart. what are some of you guys running on your cars? I was looking under there in the back and theres only about an inch or two between the tire and leaf spring. How wide can i go on the back or the front? I was thinking about 16 or 17's and maybe eight inches wide but thats looking pretty improbable. Anyone got an idea or experience with this? I know about the leaf spring relocation kit from mopar but i'd like to stay away from that if i could. Am i stuck with a narrow tire and wheel combo? |

my tires are not as wide as the previous person... I am using 195-70 x14 on front and 225-60x14 on the rear both on stock ralley wheels 14x6....there is still room to go wider.... do you have small bolt pattern?...mine were big bolt pattern(4.5" circle) and its just a plain /6 4door 1973 Dart..... |

73's with discs have large bolt pattern while 73's with 4 wheel drums have the small bolt pattern. Right guys? |

Yes. I can also say that 8" wide rims are no problem on an A-body if the offsets are right. 9" rims should be OK, but more challenging. Lou |
