THE LOCAL TIRE STORE HAS NO INFO ON A CAR PRIOR TO 1979. I HAVE 13-INCH RIMS THAT I WANT TO RETAIN WITH A 7 1/4 INCH REAR. SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE STOUT ON BACK WOULD BE NICE FOR TOWING A 1969 WINDSOR CAMPER, KEEPS THE SWAY DOWN A BIT. ANY INPUTS? |

The max tire size for those 13" rims would be about 195/70 or 185/70. How big and heavy is that trailer? Those 9" brakes have a problem with stopping the car, adding a trailer makes the situation worse. |

If you wanted to step up to 14" rims, I have 4 steel SBP rims I could let go of. I'm only 3 hrs. away from you. Brian |

Eeek! towing a trailer with 13" rims and 9" brakes sounds like a nightmare i once had! All kidding aside, kesteb was on the money with the size for a 13" donut. If at all possible up the ante to 14's and pop for some 205/70's or some 215's-- wider footprints, more availibility, better load capacity. Now about those brakes... -JYH |
