I just bought a 74 Valiant so i could use the rear as well as the interior and brakes on my 70 Valiant. Imagine my dismay to find a big bolt 7.25" rear under this thing. I didnt know they even made big bolt 7.25's, or did some one do somthing screwy with it? I can tell the rear isnt stock because some one wrote DART on the cover

7 1/4" BBP rears were the economy axle for A-bodies that had 10" front drums or Disc Brakes w/o the need for the 8 1/4 (so no tow package, HD suspension, etc = 7 1/4")

They are very common under late /6 and 318 cars.

You could still get SBP 7 1/4 rears up to 1975-1976...

Always crawl under the car and look for the 10 bolt oval...

Thanks DI, my brother-in-law is going to give me the 8.25 from his feather(he has an 8.75w/3.55's for it) so I can still get the e-body 8.25 and just swap the 3.23's and SG into his a-body 8.25.
