Post subject:  How fast are your Super Sixes?

The snow is melting off and I got summer tires in to my car. We use generally special M+S tires in the winter, they have special steel pins on them. And they're not for racing purposes or the pins fly off...

Anyway. Now I have summer tires in my car. I have no possibility to go to race track, but I have a G-tech instrument to measure coarse results of the car performance.

My car is Dart from year 1966. There is 225cid + 0.06" rebuilt engine under the hood. Super Six with 318 BBD. Dutra duals going to 2" tubes and the rest is 2.25". 244 degree MP cam (equals to stock!). Behind the engine 904 and 7.25" with 3.55 (stock!) gears.

I did couple of tests in a small road with no other traffic. My best 0-100 kmh (equals to 0-63 MPH) was 8.8 seconds. The day was quite cold, about 8 centigrades and I feel some "bog" in the carburettor. I'm sure it helps, when the air temp rises 10 centigrades.

The 0-400 meters went little better than year ago. Stock head gave me 17.0 second readings. Now, with 1.725" intake valves + 1.42" exhaust i got my best to 16.4s. The speed was 138 kmh (85.5 MPH).

This test was done with no tune up, I just went to the road to try. I feel that I can tune up (ignition, jets and so on my car below 8.5 sec at 0-100 kmh, and as well get some tenths off from my 400 meter time w/o part swaps.

How will my car be placed in the Super Six Series?
