Ok, I've been using the search function for weeks now, trying to figure out what's the best Cam I can order for my new slant. Just can't find an answer that answers my question,.. I know, it's been asked before,.. but I'm going to ask anyway. Hope nobody minds.

That said,..

This is what will end up in the car, partswise:

* proline twin webbers on Offenhauser intake
* Clifford dual headers into 2,5"dual exhaust
* Stock crank & pistons

* Electronic ignition
* MDS 6al
* MSD Blastercoil2
* MSD ignition leads

* reconditioned head ( will port it before I bolt it on)
* Stock valves
* Stock fuelpump
* stock oilpump

Now, I'm looking for a cam to go with all this.

It will go in a streetcar, but I like to be the fastest from the trafficlights. I like power at low rpm's. I want smooth idle.

I drive a 4 speed manual.

I have to decide on what to order

I'm looking for an off the shelf, non-custom cam

Please hand out your recomendations and please let me know how it behaves on the street.

I know, way too much text,.. :oops:

Only a handful of guys are working with the Proline setup at the moment.
There have been some 'teething' problems with larger than stock cams to get them to run 'normal' (i.e. not 'rich').

I've had the pleasure to be able to work with one and see how it is on a stock 225 and now on a 225 with the Comp Cam 264S. With a stock cam it's plug and play and works good. You'll have some carb tuning to dial in the unit if you go to the bigger cam. Another fun thing will be recurving your distributor since the Weber's ported vacuum is pretty strong and tends to drag in the vacuum advance at times you don't want it.

The good news is this unit doesn't take anywhere near the time to play with as say a small cam and a Hyperpak intake, but your still have a lot of finessing to figure out, plus Chris is awesome at supporting his product and replies quickly to questions/problems/tuning queries.

You may not get many replies since you're going down the road not travelled as much....

I'd vote for either the Comp Cam 252S, or the 264S...if you have lots of time and patience take a look at the Isky line of cams too.
