I was cross referencing some other part in my manual and I noticed that A-body Taxi and Police packages got a .94 diameter Torsion bar that isn't listed in any of the 'swap' and performance lists (most skip it and go from the 340 bars, 383 bars, to the Solo Bar...). It's not like you find an A-body cop car or taxi that often now a days, but I never would've thought they'd use a T-bar better than the 892/3's.... Can anyone back the manual up from first hand experience? -D.Idiot |

Personally i don't think that they ever made a .94 bar... at least not for an A-body that is. Granted my statement is based on the fact that i've never encountered a .94 bar or heard mention of one in all my travels. .87's are the 340/AC bars .89's are the BB bars .92's are solo .99's are HD solo/road race 1.04's are flat track 1/4 and the 1.14's are the big daddies I don't see how they could've used the .94 bars back then... the shocks to control them would've cost a fortune, and the ride woulda been awful on bias ply tires. -JYH |

Hello DusterIdiot I have a pair of .94 bars ready to go in my 69 Dart. They came from a 1975 or 76 police car. they are marked "CST 634R" & "CST 635L". I went out this morning after reading your post and put calipers on them and they are right at .938-.942. I have been waiting a long time to put them in, Hope they are as much fun as I expect they will be. ![]() |

Wacky... i looked in my '75 Chassis Service Manual and there's no listing. It just says: H.D. Susp. (Sedans) .87-- there's just a blank for the police model under the V&L line. Of course there's the .94 bar under the R,W,X&S line. Basically same bar for all apps. With the exception of the station wagon that got .04 bars (i'm assuming that it's a misprint and they meant .94's as well) At any rate, my bigger question is why would Mopar discontinue/not produce them and offer the .92 in it's place avail only in the aftermarket? That seems like a bass ackwards approach to me. Hmmmm... .94 bars would be killer! that sweetness between the .92's and the .99's... i'm guessing the spring rate would be around 165~180 in/lbs which would be well suited to street duty. Either way, enjoy those bars-- they're rare! -JYH 64 Dart .990's and loose fillings to prove it! SoCal |

I had a '76 Cop Dart and that thing handled AWESOME! The rear sway bar helped. Don't have it anymore or I would go check to see if it had the big bars, but from the sounds of it, it probably did. |

Thanks for the info, that was my theory. Why drop a mass produced bar, that filled the gap between 'loose fillings' and fairly 'stiff'....Now I'll have to check out every A-body in the local yards and see if any Taxi or Cop Cars show up in the raspberry brambles... codes for the 75-76 Fender tag would be A37 or A38, on further introspection.... good information for yard hunters, might be some cheap HD bars out there somewhere.... cool, -D.Idiot |
