http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/sho ... Post919007 ![]() The light at the end of the tunnel is nearing.... Do not know if I'll get the swap done this summer or not, depends on the work schedule. But I have 6 non-driving months to work on her starting in October. I can't wait to have some 'useful' gears in the rearend, and still be able to hear myself think on the highway ![]() -S/6 |

Cool! ![]() Looks a lot like the one Team Green did for my Duster. I'm using a 340 scattershield to switch to a 4 speed. ![]() |

super6, thanks for posting that link. This has been a long project but it is getting close to the end now. Lou is also interested in one of these plates so maybe we'll see some more pictures from him when he installs his. I'll have pictures and some info on my webpage by the end of June or so. |

Here is a picture of the factory one next to the billet one. Also, the new adapter has a starter shield and an inspection shield. ![]() |

please let me know when one is available. The 500 trans sounds good for my 65 stepside /6 with the 3.91 stock gears. Thanks |

By the way, I will admit my ignorance on the 500/518 trannys, what was the vehicle applications and years for these? |

You're looking at Dakotas for the 500 and Rams for the 518... There is a 'specific cut off' I think from 1989 to 1992 for the years that are desired since they will still have the mechanical governors in them and the proper speedo hook up...sometime around 1993-1994 they became computer controlled. -D.Idiot |

Both Daks and Rams and B vans had both types of trannys behind V6s and V8s. 92-93 and under is correct for the easiest swap. Look for the standard 904-type shift/kickdown linkage and speedo cable output. If the input shaft has a hole in it, it's a lockup, otherwise it's non LU. Lou |

$400 for the kit. Kit includes the plate adapter, the crank spacer, the longer crank bolts (ARP) and special ARP bolts that hold the plate to the block. The kit also contains an inspection plate and starter shield made from stainless steel. Email me at andyf@arengineering.com for more info or to order. I'm not selling this part thru dealers since it will be low volume and there isn't enough margin in that price to give the dealers any margin. I made 5 kits. One is sold to a board member and the other is going to Lou for his car. So there are 3 left at the moment. The picture above isn't accurate anymore since I decided to go ahead and have them anodized black. I'll get new pictures posted. |
