It depends on what you're trying to do...
If you're just going for a standard overbore (.005,.020,.030,.040), and a bump in compression (like 9.0:1), then you can grab a rebuild kit from northern auto parts or PAW for like $300 and then ditch the 'stock' cam replacement for one of your choosing (comp cam, isky, etc...) and still save money...

If you're walking on the wild side or doing some major laughing gas (i.e. need forged units)...then you may look into buying a 'refresh kit' and getting the pistons from Cox Brothers. I'd also recommend the roller timing set from them too in either case...

The only other things to consider in the build up are your intake, exhaust, and head work...


parting together a 'set' gets kind of spendy, and with clifford's service being in question at the moment, let us know wht you're up to and lots of us have some recommendations to help you out.
