Where do I find the block dimensions for bore spacing and head bolt location? I also need the specs for the bottom end. |

The bore centers are at 4 inch "center to center". There is not published information on these specs, I would measure a block for the bolt patterns. Soooo.....thinking about making a billet block??? DD |

I thought the bore centers were 4" between the center two, and less (3.92"??) between all of the others. Or, it could be the other way around (less between center two). I know I have read something like this... Lou |

You have a pretty good memory Lou? You are correct. I pulled the old Slant 6 News #49, and in the "History of the Slant 6" it says the following: "The engine had the cylinders arranged in three pairs. The distance between 1&2, 3&4, 5&6 was 3.98". The distance between 2&3, and 4&5 was 4.00". The main journals were under the spaces between cylinders 2&3 and 4&5. The extra.020"(the difference between the 4.00" spacing and the 3.98") was needed for the length of the main bearings being used." By: Willem Weertman Hope that helps you out. Rick |
