Post subject:  disconnecting torsion bar from LCA
I got the upper control arm off, now I'm trying to get the LCA. All my manual says is to loosen the tension on the control arm and then disconnect the torsion bar from the LCA. I loosened the tension and tried to disconnect the torsion bar from the LCA, but it won't go. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Actually if you remove the nut and washer on the LCA pivot, you can then drive the whole works rearward a few inches. Then this relieves the binding condition on the torsion bar and it will slide right out.

I tried the above steps, but couldn't move the pivot stud back.

I loosened the strut rod nut and was able to drive the pivot back.

Observed definite movement of the t-bar at the rear socket, but no movement in relation to LCA.

(I am trying to just remove the torsion bars and install different ones)

How do I separate the t-bar from the LCA ?

After removing the clip on rear part of torsion bar try
a bicycle handlebar stem clamp , the part that holds the
handlebar fits good on the torsion bar, titen the clamp
to torsion bar then hammer on the clamp rearwards.
also some penetrating oil inside the lower arm/torsion
bar area may help. I got my handle bar clamp from
bikes thrown out on side of road.
