I just finished the disc brake swap. I used '79 Cordoba parts from the spindle out. I might have the calipers on the wrong sides. I just put them on with the hose port to the back. The metal line on the car is closer to the back. The hose fits just right like this.

I ripped the piston boot taking the caliper on and off. When I asked for a caliper for the passenger side, I didn't get the caliper I expected. So, I've probably got them on the wrong sides. It doesn't look like it makes any difference as to where the piston meets the brake pad, and the brakes seem to wrok fine the way the are. Is it allright like this?

On both sides the bleeder nipples must be on top ( air goes up). Is this the case?

Well, the bleeder nipples are on top now. I guess it's okay then?

Should be fine. The problem that happens when you put the calipers on backwards is that you'll never get all the air out of your brake lines.

If the sides are reversed the calipers will either be towards the front of the car or the back of the car (I forget which is which). Both have the bleeders at the top. I have done 2 conversions, one on a A-body and they were toward the rear, I think this is the stock way to do it. I also did a B-body and they were toward the front as it cleared other things better. The only thing needed was a slightly longer brake hose to route it away from moving parts. Both work great.

I just did a conversion an stuck the brakes towards the front. It fit the hoses well so I believe it was stock. Either way, the nipples were towards the top.

I used '79 Cordoba parts on my '71 Dart. The spindles, rotors, and calipers, and hoses are from a '79 Cordoba. The only thing I had to do to get the hoses to fit was reshape the hole in the mounting bracket. The calipers are mounted on the front and the bleeder valves are on top. Everything seems to work fine, but I haven't driven the car much. I still need to get it aligned.
