| Post subject: | Largest Tires for 4.5J 14 Inch Wheels |
I have heard alot of opinions on what the largest tire you can put on the 4 1/2 inch wide 14 inch wheel. What is the largest size that will fit without making installation too difficult or compromising the tire? I understand tire manufacturers say a 175 75R14 is the biggest. This would make me think a 185 75r14 or 195 70r14 would be ok. Opinions? Also, what is the largest tire that comfortably fits in a stock 64 Valiant wheel well? |

I have put 205/70 tires on those rims. The largest rim/tire combination is 235/60x15 on 15x7" stock steel rims. |

would that be the same wheel that would have come on a 73 swinger? i run 205/70's on my car and my guess is that i have those same size wheels. |

couldnt you put a "small" 60 series, like a 195 or 205 "60" on the 4.5" rim??? |
