McCleod lists a 9.5" high performance clutch assy. for a '64 to '69 D 100 with a 273. Available in Borg & Beck or diaphram versions. Anyone know if this will fit a slant six flywheel ? |

There is a good chance that this unit will fit. Many of the 273 did use the smaller flywheel and clutch which as the same 10 5/8 inch bolt pattern as the SL6. See this article for more info. http://www.slantsix.org/articles/clutch ... utches.htm DD |

I think that clutch will fit also. I'm working with "Red" right now to see what I can get for a new clutch setup. I'm giving him my bell housing to measure. He hasn't done anything with slants before. For sure, I'll get a flywheel, Diaphram pressure plate and clutch assembly (hopefully 10" if the bolt pattern matches). Maybe, he can adapt a v-8 bell housing and move the starter to the bottom for better exhaust clearence and possibly a bigger clutch ![]() ![]() I'll post any part #'s I use when it's all together. ![]() |

If you are buying a flywheel Mcleod can put 2 patterms on the flywheel for you. We got the stock slant pattern and one for a high performance Diaphragm clutch assembly. I posted a whole article with part numbers when we did ours about a year and a half ago. Do a search and it may be helpful to you. It has about 12,000 miles on it and has worked flawlessly. Very light pedal, and great hold (We used the dual friction material disc). Now if we could just figure out the oil pump thing !!!! Rick |
