What is the cost of milling a head about .060? what does it cost to put oversize valves in? such as maching the seat to use small block chevy valves just trying to get an idea of how much it's going to cost....thanks...Jerry |

I took the head in today. I'm not getting oversized valves, but I know SI valves charges about $10 each ($4 for stock valves). I don't know what the machine shop charges to open the head. I'm getting a basic 3 angle valve job ($70) and mill .060 ($50). |

![]() Don't forget new guides, hardened seats if you don't have them, you'll have to pickup the head before they finish things if you plan to port and bowl blend the guide area of the runner... Mine cost $300 total, but that was with seats, guides, check springs for uniformity, valves, mill .010, 3 angle job, let me have it to port before milling and drilling the guides... and the guy was nice enough to make sure only 2 valve stems were short by .0001..... ![]() -D.Idiot |
