Hey,

I pulled my engine today unexpectedly and I now need a rebuild kit. Kanter Auto Products had a basic, master, and delux kit for 855 and lower. What I was wondering was if there were any other places to compare kits and prices. Is that the best thing to use to rebuild my engine? If needed, I'll type out what is in the Kanter kits.

Thanks,
Ashley

I was very pleased with the rebuild kit I bought from Northern Automotive. I just rebuilt a 1970 225. The Master Kit is about $335 depending on if it's a mechanical or hydraulic cam. They even had pistons up to .060.
Check it out!!

Laysons Restoration is also a good source for stock parts.

None of those two websites have an overhaul set for a 225. Laysons has for a 273 and up.

I can check, but the last time we bought a kit for a 225 it was around $400.00 with the cam, rings, brgs, pistons, gaskets, oil pump. The oil pump was the most expensive part of it. It may be a little bit higher now as parts have gone up a bit, and this is through a warehouse here in Atlanta. You can contact me at my e-mail address hotheadinc@hotmail.com if you need to get to me quickly. I can have them ship it directly to you UPS if you want. :)

I got the parts kit from NAP and it's a pretty good kit, especially with moly rings for a couple extra $$$...

here's the link you didn't find... under Engine Kits, Chrysler, 225 1960-1980 mechanical camshaft

Just takes some 'practice' finding the stuff off the beaten path, probably by this time next year you'll have it down to a science...
