A friend tells me that there are some new dual master cylinders with internal proportioning valve with boost assist that I can bolt up to my '62 Valiant while I add 10 inch drum brakes (sbp) off a '72 Duster. Anyone know where or if this would work? My car is an automatic with nonpower 9" brakes, but we are upgrading it now. I'll add the dual master cylinder, but didn't know about the internal proportioning valve or the power booster. Any vendors selling such an animal?

If I go with this drum brake package (with or without the dual master or power booster) are there any pitfalls? Thanks.

I could be wrong, but u might b reffering to something that's designed for cars w a huge cam that cannot create enough vacuum to operate the power brake booster at low rpm's.

Both my slanted machines have plenty of vacuum to run their factory brake boosters. I have an 80 aspen, and an 85 truck, both with transplanted early '70s mills.

The only question would be can you find a booster that's a direct bolt or would you have to drill or fab something.

I've heard you don't need a proportioning valve till you go disk front brakes.

Hope that helps some.

I'm going with a two cylinder master with residential valves, front and rear, for the ten inch drums. the power booster would have doubled the cost. Thanks for the replies.
