I finally found a decent rear in a yard.
It is an 8.25" w/ 3.21's I'm going to finish pulling it in the morning.
It is in an aspen coupe with a manual trans

Hey cool! You going to put it under the Valiant? Every time I see your '70, I think of my sisters '70 Valiant (her first car....in '1980!). I'm still searching for an 8.75 pumpkin with 3.23's for myself....free or cheap would be nice.....

yes, the rear is going under the Valiant.
no, the aspen rear is only 1.1" wider than the rear that is in it now and the perches have been moved in 0.75" to line up properly.
I will be posting the times on sunday in the virtual dragstrip, we are going to be racing at the slant six racing series saturday in Pittsburgh.

The wider track in the rear will actually give your ole' Val a nicer stance... I hate the rear track being so much narrower than the front on A-bodies, that's why I put wider wheels out back on all of them... 8) Good deal.

My brother-in-law even gave me a pair of LBP slots with some 245/60B14's that I hope will fit in the wheel wells. I'll find out in the next couple days.

Well It is in and running great! the slots and big tires will not fit, so I am stuck running some hideous steel wheels w/ 205/75R15's.
those 3.21's really give a kick in the seat! I realise the speedo is way off right now but wow!
pics to come when we get back!
