Post subject: | Brake Parts Paint |
What kind of paint should I use on the various brake components? My disk-brake conversion parts pile is growning. I like to clean and paint the parts as I get them. It will all be semi-gloss black, but I assume the calipers will see some heat. What about the adapters and knuckles? Should I use the special "Caliper Paint" sets at the parts store, or will hi-temp spay paint work OK? |

I painted my drums with hi temp engine paint, I think Plasticoat. The finish has held up very well during the two years or so of daily use. It should work on the calipers as well, its basically the same stuff as the caliper paint for less money. |

I used BBQ paint on the calibers. It has held up just fine. In my opinion, all chassis parts should be semi-flat black paint. |

my buddy used engine paint on his calipers as well, and that was over 2 years ago and they still look good. |
