friend has a 68 valiant /6 auto. Won't shift into 3rd gear. Does the 904 have to be from a slant?,or can he use a 318 or 273 904? Can anyone tell me what year trannys will bolt up??

yes!!! mopar decided each engine group gets their own special tranny style, you will need a slant tran for your slant motor. some of the more knowledgable guys can explain the why's I just know that generally speaking slant motor needs slant tranny.
