I have a 65 Coronet /6 of course...just in case you guys have forgotten.I'm pretty irregular on the internet action. Anyway I don't want to tear my 8 3/4 rear down...so I have spun the the tires and driveshaft and counted revolution until I'm blue. I keep comming up with 3.33 gear ratio. I've been told they didn't make a 3.33. Does anyone know what ratios were offered in 1965 B bodies?

Does your 65 rearend have the big nuts holding on the rear break drums?

Here is a little known fact, the tapered axle early B-Body rearends came in two sizes 8 3/4 and the six cylinder had a 8 1/4, the housings are the same so the center sections can be swapped.

An 8 1/4 came with 3.31 and 2.93 ratios.
If that is not it, I would guess it's a 3.23, 1/10 turn is a little hard to see.

I do not have nuts holding the rear drums on. I based my assumption that it was a 8 3/4 axle, on the fact that it was a ten bolt - welded cover-rear end housing with the physical measurements of a 8 3/4 of that year model B body. I do know that the ID of the outer seal is 1.875. Some performace gear manufactures speak of two casting numbers but I can't find any natching #'s and there is no tag.
The axles are held in buy a nut which requires end play adjustment.
Any Ideas?
