Doug,
I do not have nuts holding the rear drums on. I based my assumption that it was a 8 3/4 axle, on the fact that it was a ten bolt - welded cover-rear end housing with the physical measurements of a 8 3/4 of that year model B body. I do know that the ID of the outer seal is 1.875. Some performace gear manufactures speak of two casting numbers but I can't find any natching #'s and there is no tag.
The axles are held in buy a nut which requires end play adjustment.
Any Ideas?
Thanks Again, David/Trysix

: Here is a little known fact, the tapered axle
: early B-Body rearends came in two sizes 8
: 3/4 and the six cylinder had a 8 1/4, the
: housings are the same so the center sections

: An 8 1/4 came with 3.31 and 2.93 ratios.
: If that is not it, I would guess it's a 3.23,
: 1/10 turn is a little hard to see.
