have it nickel plated instead of chromed. it has a different hue to it, looks much richer and deep. that is what i had done on a set of rims for my triumph, looks awesome..

The stages of a chrome plating job are: Copper, Nickel, and then Chrome. Nickelplate left unchromed has a less-blue, more-yellow hue. Not quite as shiny. Equally durable. It's a less in-your-face, more subtle finish; I agree it looks classy if done properly.

too bad I didn't know you wanted one. I saw a later model slant six one that was chromed for $50 this weekend. I didn't want the plastic pcv valve setup, so I passed on it.

Ah, that's not the dark side, it's just a different branch on the family tree. Nothing wrong with a nice clean small block installation and this is that for sure.
