I realize that this plug is not INTENDED to ever to be removed as idle mixture is factory set however it WAS at some time or another. It appears that it was removed properly but for what reason is anybodys guess ( the van spent alot of time south-of-the-border Mexico way). I was told the 90+ year old lady owner had this van converted, had been from Toronto, Canada to Mexico frequently. I would surmize that with long hot travel south then coming back to cold city driving she experienced drivability problems? Maybe her mechanic (or dealership) thought it was the way to go at that time i dont know.
I feel its going toward the rich side since even with tune up it still boggs, although slight and the mileage could be better ( I know not to expect too much from that however, ESA and all)
My question CAN I lean this out if the mood strikes and with what tool ( I can't poke my head in far enough to see) or leave it and compensate in other areas to counteract the rich setting (timing etc)?

OH MY GOD, THE PLUG IS REMOVED FROM YOUR 1945 HOLLEY?!? YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OVER TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SO THEY CAN GET THE CIA, FBI, EPA, CPSC, OSHA AND THE BOMB SQUAD TO COME BLOW IT UP WITH C4 EXPLOSIVE BEFORE IT HARMS ONE SINGLE MORE CITIZEN!

D/W

P. S. - I bet you remove the "do not remove" tag from matresses too, you scofflaw, you. :x

Funny, youre missing the point. If someone removed it in order to ADJUST it from factory tune so if its running rich then why the hell would I not try to lean it out. Im not the blowhard ( dealership for sure) who removed it in the first place just want to know what tool to jamb in there

Dude... Lighten up! It was a joke  I haven't seen the situation you're dealing with, so I've no idea what to tell you to use... a jeweler's screwdriver, perhaps?

IIRC you need a 3/32" allen wrench. Size may be off though....

Sounds about right to me. It will be either a small flathead screwdriver or an allen wrench.

Do yourself a favor and start looking for either a Carter BBS, Holley 1920, or a Supersix setup. Holley 1945's are junk. I have one on my truck and used to have one on my car and they both are piles of crap. They flow poorly, are set up way to lean, jets are a pain to change, power valve channel is way to restritctive, and they are the smallest carbs used on a 225.
