In reality on a daily driver 69 valiant, will rear air shocks pumped up pretty well affect the pinion angle enough to make the difference between a smooth ride when lowered and a vibration when pumped up? And if so, is this normal or a symptom of another issue? Thanks for the input.

Rear air shocks are a good way to break a shock mount in the back. PO installed coilovers on my car before I got it. Result, a broken shock mount.

Yeah, that's not a good thing. At this point, I'm on my third Valiant, a 67,68, and now 69. They've all had air shocks and I guess I've been really lucky as not to have had an issue with them until now, and that's only with a vibration I think is related to pinion angle. Maybe a good idea to keep em the pressure low then. Thnaks for the tip. Any idea on my original question though? Thanks!!!

I would check the U joints and make sure they are in good shape. If not bad u joints could cause a vibration.

Pumped up air shocks decrease ride quality. Not sure how much pinion angle would change.

The rear shock mounts are not designed to carry a load such as they would have with coilovers or air shocks. The result is frequently the upper pins ripped out of the floorpan.
