I guess I'll have to look at it your way: different strokes for different folks. Some people just like the under sized, ill handling pinner size wheels. By the way do you still use air-jacker shocks too?

The front is:
B body spindles,

73 power steering box,
17X8 wheels with 5.72 back-spacing, 235/45/17 tires and 1/2 spacers,

The rear is:
340 Duster rear leaf springs,
3/4" rear sway-bar,
11" rear disc brakes,
slider rear spring shackles,
8 3/4" rear-end with 3.91 gears and a power-lok,
KYB shocks,
same 17" wheels with 245/45/17 tires

yep, sounds a lot like my swinger. identical except for the 16:1 manual box, 13" front brakes (for use with those wheels) and an 8 1/4" rear (for now) with 1" spacers, 10.5" rear discs and s/s springs. was a real ball to drive! is that 8 3/4 from a b-body?

Hi James, Thanks. I'm planing on a EFI 318 with a 4 spd O/D in it. Bill over at BBD is talking about making a 4 corner airride set-up for A bodys. If I can raise the $$$ for it in a year or too I may go with that. I want to get it driving to see how it is with the stock type parts first.

What year of Swinger? A 17x7 or 17x8 wheel should fit most years except for the really early stuff and they weren't called Swingers back then. The Mustang Bullitt rims look good, are plenty strong and are fairly inexpensive. The Mustang rims are 17x8 with 5.72 backspacing so you'll need spacers in the rear but they'll fit up front if you have the '73 or newer disc brakes. Of course with 17 inch rims you want to run a large rotor. 13 inch rotors fit just fine.

My car is a B body so it has a little more room. I run 17x8 up front and 17x10 in the rear. I've been test fitting some 18x9 rims up front recently so I can run a 14 inch brake rotor.

The rims in this picture are custom Fikse three piece. They are pretty expensive but it is what you have to do to get the backspacing just right.

The 17's look so right on the B body! I think maybe 16's are the perfect size for an updated A body though. 18's NOOOOO!

I'm not sure that I'll offer a kit for sale with the 14 inch rotors but I can easily build the parts if someone wants it. I have it mocked up and it works fine. I used a rotor from a Charger SRT8 and the caliper from a Viper. It all fits fine inside of a 18x9 Mustang rim.

Yep, Fikse FM5 rims. I put them on my '65 a few years ago. Nice and light, very strong and I think they have a clean classic look. Kind of spendy though. I think they were about $900 each.
