Thanks for your answers on the clip and the 65 Dart Hood.
Here's another query- because the 65 hood is so different- is there
another combination of Valiant or Dart parts to put on a 65?
In other words can you put a 65 BCuda hood on a 65 Dart etc.?
I'd love to get a combo that was cheap and accessible etc.

Nope, there's no crossing the Dodge/Plymouth line, I'm afraid. None of the front end parts on any-year Dart can be intermixed with any of the front end parts on any-year Valiant. There is some interchangeability across certain year Darts and across certain year Valiants and Baccarudas. For example:

Front fenders interchange '64-'65 Valiant and Barracuda. The crease line's backsweep is different on '64s than on '65s, but that's a cosmetic difference only; the body lines all match up. '64-'65 Valiant and Barracuda hoods are all the same. Ditto front bumpers.

'63-'64 Dart hoods, front bumpers and fenders are the same.

Oddly enough, the '69 Barracuda hood (which, I'm pretty sure, also can be used on the '67-'68 Barracudas) is interchangeable with the '73-'76 Dart hood!

What about Lou's (dart270) VART? Isn't that a 66 Valiant, with a Dart front end? Don't remember what year. I know Merril Brunner got him a fiberglass Dart hood for the car.

Docs Dacuda is an interesting hybrid. 66 Barracuda with a 64 Dart front clip? Very cool!

I think Dan is referring to an individual piece type swap-- dodge dart hood/fender on a plymouth valiant -b-cuda -- or vice versa

whereas--- Lou & Doc use complete front clips to swap---

so if you have at your disposal complete front clips you could do a swap-- just would have to check body lines-- and see if they line up to your satisfaction---

Good luck---

Right. That's what I meant when I said that None of the front end parts on any-year Dart can be intermixed with any of the front end parts on any-year Valiant.

No such checking needed. The body lines on all '63-'66 A-body front clips (i.e., "front end assembly") line up with all '63-'66 A-body bodies.

Thanks everybody!
Looks like one possibility if I get involved
with this 65 Dart is to put fiberglass
64-65 Barracuda fenders and hood on it
(complete fiberglass clip in essence)
Might be an interesting (if not cheap) swap.
