My friend helped me replace the front main seal which developed a nasty leak on the free way - after all that it started leaking again a week later. Now he said the engine is too old and the blowby is creating too much pressure in the crankcase. Is that true?? If so - is there a way to reduce the pressure? I like the engine - old as it is. It runs great!

Blow-by will cause pressure in the bottom end one thing you might check is that your pcv valve is working and that all the passages and hoses are clear if any of them get pluged it can cause oil to be pushed out from excessive pressure

Is oil comming out the dip-stick and breather cap?
If not, I would think it is a simple sealing issue. One thing I always check is how well the seal is centered on the crank surface, this can be way off. In some cases, I have to pull-out a locating dowl pin and use the damper hub to center the seal / t. cover before I tighten the bolts.
One other front leak problem I once saw was a hole (slit) in the cover itself, caused by a loose t. chain rubbing- thin the sheetmetal cover. ( now that's a loose timing chain!)
