I located a 1967 plymouth valiant in one of our local yards that has a manual steering box on it. But what Id like to know is if the pitman arm
off of the valiant will be ok to use on a '71 duster fitment wise???

The steering gearbox is a direct interchange. The pitman arm (and the idler arm) are one-year-only, 1967-only, and will not fit your '71.

Pitman + Idler interchange is '68-'72 Dart, Valiant, Demon, Duster plus '68-'69 Barracuda.

You can use the pitman arm off the Dusters PS box.
If you use the Mopar 3" adapter (used on Dodge vans), grab the MS pot coupler off the Valiant. If you use the aftermarket adapter, you can use the Dusters PS coupler.

All the passenger car aluminum manual steering boxes interchange with the exception of C-bodies. The boxes in /6 cars have a bushing on the sector shaft while V8 cars got a needle roller bearing.

Not quite.

'62-'72 A- and B-body boxes interchange amongst one another.

'73-up all-body boxes interchange amongst one another and with '62-'72 C-body boxes (larger pitman shaft).
