Yep, they had it at Vegas this year. Looked really cool.

Not sure how it affects the tie rods, though. If they aren't level at ride height, you will get bumpsteer. Or at least more bumpsteer.

Maybe the steering arm makes up for it. Looks ok in the picture.

I've heard rumors that this setup is going to show up on a certain green '69 Valiant. I know they had an off course excursion due to a suspension problem (they never said what, though), and my bet is they ran out of suspension travel.

That's just a rumor, though.

What is that about? Looks like a tubular UCA and stock LCA. What are they trying to sell? Dropped spindles maybe?

Look at how the spindle bolts to the lower control arm.

Maybe a better clue is, look at the lower balljoint.

They are using a non A-Body, stock Mopar, LCA that puts the LBJ higher in relation to the chassis, and thereby lowers the car without dropping the torsion bars or loosing wheel travel.

Hmm, last time I saw anything like this dropped LCA at Firm Feel it was a late B-body LCA, but that isn't what's in the picture. I'll have to ask Dick about it when we have lunch togther next. Should be later this week.

Are you sure?

Yes, I'm sure I saw a mock-up of a late B-body lower control arm at Firm Feel in Vancouver. Taking a second look at the picture it may in fact be the late B body LCA. I will ask Dick Ross (owner, proprietor of Firm Feel) about dropped lower control arms for A bodies when I see him next.

Sorry, I wasn't questioning what you saw previously, but what you saw in the picture. It looked like a late B-Body LCA to me, so I was just poking at you in light hearted fun.

In Vegas, what I saw (and what they told me) was a late B-Body LCA, so I can at least substantiate the rumor, if not confirm it.

I wonder how the caster and camber changes as the wheel moves through it's travel in this setup. That was the big hoopla with the F-Body spindles, because the spindle was taller the caster/camber was all different. I guess in this setup, in theory, the UBJ would still be in the same location, provided the at-rest wheel location in the fender doesn't move, i.e. ride height doesn't change. The benefit then would be the wheel could move up farther before contacting the stops, which could put the UBJ in bind. Looks like the kit might include an UCA, which is probably designed to keep that from happening.

On the other hand, if the car is lowered further because this setup would allow it, the UBJ would be higher, just like in the F-Body spindle swap. In that case, the opponents of the F-Body spindle swap would be against this swap.

I wonder how the late B-Body LCA and A-Body LCA compare for length. If they are different, everything is out the window.

Maybe that is why they are still saying "Coming Soon" as it sure looked ready for production in Vegas. Maybe they are still testing it. I guess time will tell.

Ok, I was at Firm Feel today. Yes, it's a late B-body LCA. It's a little longer than an A body LCA. The LCA has a bracket welded to it and another one bolted on. One bracket is for the shock mount. The LCA stud or pin that goes into the K-member is custom as are the upper control arms. The UCAs are to accomodate not only the longer LCA, but also the more severe angle of the UCA (take the angle out of the upper ball joint) on lowered vehicles. Of course all this was done to facilitate lower ride heights without hitting the bump stops or the subframe.

So it will be a lower control arm AND an UCA. Do you know if there will be any other specific parts, like shocks? BTW, thanks for the info!

I don't know about Firm Feel providing shocks, but I do know Nissan Pathfinder shocks are a little shorter and 2WD Nissan pickup shocks are shorter still and both directly bolt into an A body. How low do you want to go?

When I talked to them in Vegas, my understanding was that they were using the stock A-Body shock.
