The Clark Cortez used a single horizontal (or "sidedraught" -- not "side updraught", no such thing) Carter YH carburetor mounted on a special intake manifold that had the regular top mounting flange blocked off with a plate. The YH carb was mounted to a mounting flange on the outboard vertical surface of the intake manifold (where the EGR valve is on late-model intakes, via a different flange). Horsepower on that 225 engine in the Cortez was 127, compared to the standard 225's 145.
